There is a legend known among the wee ones of the forest, that near the southeast of the center of the forest, when a new moon sets with the sun, tiny wishing stars fall to the earth long enough to be caught like fireflies in the summertime. Katie says you just give it a kiss, think of a wish, and give it a gentle nudge back up into the night sky.

Wanda’s story:
Wanda has always been sensitive
to the whispering Winds of the east...
The slightest flick of a whisker
at the smallest increment of a degree,
up or down, or side to side,
the Wind speaks to she.
Of wishes and dreams...
prayers—or anything in between.
If someone is in need
she hears it on the breeze...
sounds of longing and hope
like floating leaves.
What do they wish for Wanda,
Miss Wanda?
Can I make a wish too?
What do you do with the wishes Wanda,
Miss Wanda?
Can I help with them too?
"Good News in the Meadow"
Oil on gessoboard panel
12"x9"
$1100
Story:
Morning in the meadow on a fine spring day, just before Brinkley shares the content of an official letter from the Queen, while the nearest forest friends gather in hope of good news. And it is indeed good news for all!
Who among us wouldn't like to hear good news these days, and dare I say good news in abundance.
That is my dream for our world.
Purchase via Nanny Goat Gallery here. This piece was part of the “Imagine” Group Show opening Feb. 20th 2026.

There are secrets in the meadow,
only the Lady knows,
serving as protector
to her woodland friends.
She signals to her sentinels
across the verdant land,
when her corner of the world
is the most safe and grand.
