She has a close friend who apprentices at an artist's studio there and he teaches her everything he learns. She is determined to become a painter and wants to surprise her father with a portrait of him someday. She hopes it will convince him to let her follow her dreams. I feel that I've followed my chosen path in life, but would like to think I would have had the courage and commitment to do what I pleased if it were a few centuries ago. Although the world is still testing women's liberties all around the world today. Courage like Lady Mirabella's is needed world round. Here we see these accomplished percussionists awaiting direction from the maestro, who is not in view. If you've ever been part of a musical group, you know that all important moment when all eyes are on the conductor or leader for the cue to start their performance. This portrait was taken before Jean-Louis got himself into a bit of trouble! He had been entrusted with buying six croissants and one small wheel of cheese from the local boulangerie and fromagerie for a visit later that afternoon with his aunt and uncle from Ballywhee. However, somehow when he came home, there remained only three croissants and a half eaten wheel of cheese. It appears that the crumbs on his jacket gave him away. It was not fair to reprimand him, cried Jean-Louis softly, because his parents sent him on the errand before he had his lunch, and he had only had a little milk for breakfast. On occasion, she has an extra special way of moving through the trees at night, dropping starlight like seeds into the sweet dreams of her beloved young woodland kits. The little ones know she has been for a visit when they wake up with the same lilting melody in their heads.
